LaQuinta was born in Hammond, Louisiana, then moved to St Paul, MN when she was 10 years old. She enjoys shopping, eating, and loving herself! If she could go anywhere in the world, she would go to Jamaica as she hears it’s one of the best Caribbean areas to visit!
LaQuinta has been working at Coventry since April 2016! When asked about what she likes best about working at Coventry, LaQuinta shared "I love the residents. Just knowing that the care that I provide makes a difference in their lives makes me happy.”
Bianca Hurst Resident Assistant Bianca has been working at Coventry since March 2016! When asked what she likes best about working at Coventry, she shared “I enjoy working with my coworkers, we always have lots of fun! My residents are fun, funny, & full of life. They love when they see me! I feel appreciated!”
Bianca is from Markham, Illinois, which is right outside of Chicago. She enjoys spending time with her children, especially her new baby! She likes to dress up and to get her nails done. Bianca also loves to travel to the South saying that Texas was her favorite! If she could travel anywhere in the world, she said she wants to take a cruise and make stops around the Caribbean!
Mary Mann Resident Assistant
Mary was born in Jamacia, NY. She spent several years in Chicago, IL then Minnesota became her home in 1979. If she could travel anywhere, she would love to take a trip to Hawaii, without the kids. She says the water, trees, and everything about it looks so relaxing, peaceful, & free!
Mary has worked at Coventry since February 2016! She shared that "“In the 3 years I’ve worked here, I have learned how to accept daily & worked with nice coworkers. The residents are a joy to provide care for.”
Hager Etecha Resident Assistant
Hager has been working at Coventry since September 2015!! She says it's a great place to work and she loves that everyone here is very helpful and nice.
Hager is from Ethiopia, Addisabeba. She really enjoys listening to worship songs, reading the bible, cooking, and cleaning. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she says she wants to go to Israel, Jerusalem to see the Holy Land!
Rolewon "Susan" Poquee Resident Assistant
Rolewon has been with Coventry since July of 2015!! Her favorite thing about working at Coventry is working with her coworkers and being with the residents. She shared, "I love them!"
She is from West Africa, growing up in Liberia. She enjoys Exercising, running, walking, cooking & baking. If she could travel anywhere in the world, Rolewon would go to Dubai!
Miriam Habetemariam Resident Assistant
Miriam was born and raised in Asmara, Eritrea, and where is that you might ask? The State of Eritrea is a country in the Horn of Africa, with its capital at Asmara. It is bordered by Sudan in the west, Ethiopia in the south, and Djibouti in the southeast. Miriam says if she could travel anywhere in the world, this is where she would go because her family lives there.
Besides helping people, Miriam loves to read, spend time with her family and friends and she loves to cook!
Miriam has been helping people at Coventry since August 2014 and likes the fact that her schedule can be very flexible. "It's a nice place to work."
Anne Villafuerte Resident Assistant
Anne was born and raised in St Paul, MN. She has also lived a few years in Texas and Michigan. Anne would love to travel to Germany to learn more about her heritage. Anne enjoys spending time with her family, loves to travel, & enjoys going for walks.
Anne has been with Coventry Senior Living since November 2011 and she has worked in the industry doing similar work for over 22 years! Anne shared that “I love that I am able to take care of our residents. I really take pride in my work here!”
Napa Howard Resident Assistant
"I like to work here because everyone here is nice!" was Napa's reply when asked why she likes to work at Coventry. Napa has been a resident assistant since 2015 at Coventry Senior Living.
Napa, who was born and raised in Liberia, likes to cook, dance and shop. Her family is very important to her and spending time with them is one of her favorite things.
If given the opportunity, Napa said she would love to go back home to Liberia and see her brother, sister and nephew.
Christy Holland Activity Director and Music Therapist-Board Certified
Christy Holland is from a small farming community in North Carolina. She received her bachelor’s degree in music therapy with a minor in psychology from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Christy moved to Minnesota in 2009 for an internship at a care center in Stillwater. After completing her internship, she accepted a programming position at her internship site. Christy has worked as a Memory Care Programmer, Active Living Specialist, and Music Therapy Director. She is a Board Certified Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapist, and has completed the Associate level of training for The Validation Method.
Christy has been at Coventry since May 2016! Christy enjoys working with residents, family and staff at Coventry Senior Living and strives to build community, help provide an engaging and enjoyable environment, and improve residents’ quality of life.
Alice Woodman Activities Assistant
Alice has been an employee of Coventry Senior Living since March of 2015. When asked what she liked best about her work her she replied, "I like the people, interacting with them and learning their memories from their lives. I also like the music, parties and all of the enjoyment we share together."
Alice also teaches Aqua Fitness classes at Xperience Fitness and enjoys biking, walking and stenciling. She loves art and travel and spending time with her three grandsons. Alice said she would love to travel to Africa on a mission trip so that she could be of help to the people there and see all the animals.
Born in St. Paul, her family moved to Esko, MN and was there a few years before moving back to St. Paul's east side.
Mary Swendson Activity Assistant
Mary came to work at Coventry Senior Living in mid 2014. She loves our residents and enjoys spending time with them, and making them feel special, "since they definitely are!" They love you too Mary!
Born in Somerset, WI, Mary grew up on a farm and absolutely loved it. Some of her favorite things are being outdoors, dancing, reading and spending time with her family. "My family is very important to me!"
Some day, Mary would like to travel to Israel, so "I can walk on the same ground that Jesus did."
Bob Odland Environmental Services Director
Bob has been with Coventry since before the building even opened in 2011! A Minnesota native, Bob enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family at the cabin. One of Bob's dreams would be to travel to Alaska for some fishing and to take in the sights.
From changing a light bulb to painting, shoveling the walkway or supervising Coventry's housekeepers, Bob ensures our building always looks nice, inside and out.
Bob says he enjoys doing whatever he can to help our residents and can be found from time to time taking care of minor resident maintenance issues. "I try to make them comfy and happy."
Karen Appeldoorn Housekeeping
Karen has been a housekeeper at Coventry since 2015 the best thing about her work is "I like working in an environment where I can perhaps make a difference in our resident's lives, even if it's a smile or good morning. I can see it makes a difference in their daily lives and it is so rewarding for me."
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Karen says she would love to travel to Rome to see ancient ruins such as the Coliseum, Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica. While there she would also like to visit the Vatican museums, restaurants and shops.
Karen likes to keep busy when not at work but some of her favorites hobbies include gardening, walking with her husband and cooking. She likes to relax by sitting by a fire, sitting in the gazebo or soaking in the hot tub.
Nancy Stanton Housekeeper
Nancy was born in Mahtomedi and says, "I still live there today!"
Some of Nancy's favorite things to do are painting and reading. She stays fit by walking with her dogs, another favorite pastime.
Because traveling is another favorite, Nancy travels to New York every May to visit her daughter, a dancer, and watch her fabulous recitals.
Nancy has been here since 2012! When asked what she liked best about working at Coventry, Nancy had this tosay, "Working with our seniors, they really put a smile on my face. They're so thankful for the work we do."
